I recently bought a new car that I financed through ABSA. In order to be able to get the finance I had to FICA with ABSA by sending my ID and proof of address. On the 25th June 2013 all my accounts, internet banking etc was blocked and I could not access any of MY money. It is payday, end of month and I cannot access anything. When contacting the call centre I was informed that I need to go into any branch they will explain to me what the problem is. This meant that I had to put in half a day's leave at work to go into an ABSA branch, it took more than an hour to FICA in order to have access to my money and accounts.
Why did I need to FICA twice, waste time and loose money (unpaid leave) to go and FICA once again? How many times do you have to FICA at the same bank?

Secondly, my credit card expired end of April 2013. I went into the bank on the 26 April 2013, stood in line for an hour and when I go to the front requesting my new credit card I was informed the ABSA would contact me when the new card arrives as they need to order it. To this day I have had no call and have no credit card.

Needless to say I will be moving all accounts to FNB today.
