First National Bank
Three hour wait for lette

I visited the Three Rivers branch (where my husband and I have four accounts) today to obtain a letter for a visa application. The letter is standard at any other bank. Standard Bank was able to furnish us with one within ten minutes. But at FNB I was firstly sent to wait in the wrong queue. I was eventually assisted by a consultant who said that she was new there and had no idea what letter I required. I explained, but she still spent a long time on phone calls trying to figure out what she had to do. She eventually left her post and after an hour came back with some documents, but not what I had requested. I offered to dictate the letter to her, she just needed to get it typed. I gave her all the information needed. She disappeared again, and after another lengthy wait furnished me with the documents. BUT they were addressed to the wrong embassy, they were full of spelling errors and the account numbers were incorrect. She had to re-do them several times. In total I was in the bank from 9h00 until 12h15! It is obvious that she is untrained. She offered no aplogy. I am not happy with the standard of service I received today at this branch.
