Debit card does not pay immediately

Since I got my new debit card with a chip I am having problems with it. Today I purchased at two shops and then my sms says "gereserveer vir 'n aankoop". Beginning this month my debit order "bounced" because of insufficient funds. Because the debit purchase does subtract the balance immediately the balance is more than you really have. This is confusing. Absa Somerset Mall says they are having problems with there system. That is not good enough. I would like Absa to apologise to me and Old Mutual (Debit order). I get a bad name for not paying my accounts. Please fix the problem.
