On 2012/10/28 I was sold a Service Plan from MFC by Felix Zulu. He explained everything that will be covered and after giving it some thought I accepted the service plan at R199 per month for a R8963 cover. My car at that time was at 75000km on the clock and this service plan was to be effective on my next major service at 90000km.
June 2013 I took my car for service and had the campbelt replaced. As stipulated on my service plan policy I authorised VW to change the campbelt knowing that my service plan will handle the costs. My policy document states that I will be covered for the campbelt service starting at 90000km to 105000km.
When I went to pick up my car at VW Northcliff after the service, I was told that I have to pay from my own pocket for the campbelt and other items (also listed in my policy) because MFC had told VW that my the plan doesn't cover those items.
I had to pay R8000 unexpectedly and unplanned because of MFC's false promise. So all premiums paid from the month of October 2012 to date have gone to waste because MFC's service plan failed to pay for covered items as per our agreement and policy document I have in my possession. MFC's Service Plan is useless
