What a new policy

I have been a Capitec customer for over 3 years but on Thursday 13/06/2013 i transfered all my money to FNB because of the service i received. I am a foreign national who uses a valid work permit and when I opened an account with Capitec i used a work permit with no problems. I went to their branch in Randburg on 13/06/2013 to update my details and get a bank statement. my details could not be updated because i do not have a permanent residence permit and as a result i could not get a statement i so badly needed. this was after spending over an hour trying to update my details. Apparently they no longer accept nothing else except permanent residence permits. All i want to know is what will happen to all those accounts that were opened using valid work permits? can someone please explain what this means?
