My geyser burst. I logged a claim an it was repudiated due to wear and tear. In the first place when I took out the insurance I was not advise to service the geyser or the broker did not even inspect the geyser to say the geyser is for example 3years old and this is the possible risks and they will not accept liability if it burst due to aging that they aware of. Santam withheld very important information when I inquire about the product they sold me. They accepted my application with no hassles and it is a year later I am still not reimbursed. Santam/or broker sold me an inferior product that was not sufficient to protect me yet I had to pay every month. They we quick to point out clauses when I submitted the claim but why did they not point it out to me when I took out the policy these clauses. They are misleading and my advise to the general public is to rather pay a little more on your home owners cover at your bank than to struggle with this insurance giants that is out to cheat you. They appointed an assessor to inspect the geyser but he NEVER saw the geyser but yet he gave a report(). I took the case to the ombudsman but what a joke no real intervention. SANTAM/SANSURE!!!
