I submitted my claims (I bumped my car and 15 minutes later my handbag got snatched because I was SO traumatized I might not have been as alert as always) on the 2nd of May. They registered the claims. I got paid R500 for my glasses and R3000 all risk for the bag, but they STILL have not paid the cash settlement that THEY suggested for R2900 to fix the car, even though I have faxed back the signed form. And my dress ring that was IN the bag (it was way to small to wear but I wanted it valued at Reis Jewelers where I always go (I had two watches in the bag as well, but the ring was specified for R6000 which is what it cost to make in 1998. NOW WHEN I DO hear from Orico, they say "your necklace will be paid out shortly" or "Your bracelet will be paid". I think they are either completely brain dead, or they are playing for time as they are in financial difficulty. How can you take 39 days to read a clients policy wording and see that it was a RING and it was specified for R6000??? Which is by the way the reason I was taking it to get valued... for Insurance purposes!! This is utterly the poorest service I have EVER received!! And I worshiped the ground Santam walks on! To think??
