Vendor not being PAID

How is it that a multi billion dollar company can tell a vendor they dont have the capacity to resolve a problem regarding payments owed by them. Old Mutual has been a client of us for the last 5 years plus and i have had to struggle to get payment from the start but as i see a customer is a very important part of our business i always tried to resolve all issue personally. I am speechless to the way they can just rubbed it off as if it is my fault i have been struggling for the last 2 yrs to get payments in regularly, and then when u speak to different departments they treat u like u are a nothing. Every time i believe i am getting somewhere i hit a brick wall been shuffled between who must help me i thought i finally got somewhere about a month ago when i got in touch with Shafiek Abrahams he works in the share call department which is responsible for all payments he checked and agreed that the amount is outstanding. Then i call Wednesday to follow up just to be told he cant help me further as the different departments must sort it out? He then said he is not allowed to assist me further and put me through to Terrance which then gave me Heidi's number which i can not get hold of.
