Standard Bank

In Dec 2013, my card details were used for payments. I stopped the card and reported it, when I checked my bank balance in a few days the value of the /- R400 was back in my account, I got my new card in a week and I thought all was well.

In Jan 2014, I noticed a payment to "balance transfer" on my statement, after my card had been declined twice by a local vendor. I immediately stopped the new card and logged a new complaint. After another week and another new card my query was responded to. Apparently some payments in December that were genuine were outstanding when the card was stopped so naturally Standard Bank had to debit my account now with the genuine payments because those vendors deserve their money. Apparently when I got my new card after the initial case, I was supposedly credited with value of those outstanding payments.

The problem is that on my statement, no such credit exists. The initial debits are also missing from my statement and by the time the first card was stopped, my statement reflects that those "outstanding" payments had been finalized. In addition to the Jan debit, I have paid double. I may or may not get my money back.
