I have just spoken to Discovery and am so shocked at what happened, that I need to honestly consider moving Medical Aids, even if it costs more. I need a Medical Aid, not a 'credit card vendor', 'Insurance Vendor' 'Discounted Gym Membership' vendor.
I sumitted 2 claims three weeks ago. I have been phoning for payment. I have not received payment. I called today, only to 'discover' that Discovery has been paying these funds to my old bank account. This has happened to ALL claims for the last 2 years. Not once did Discovery phone me to let me know there is a problem. Surely these payments would have returned to drawer??? I advised the consultant that Discovery has refunded me in the last year to my new bank, only to be told that 'Vitality' is a different department and they refunded me, not Discovery Health.
I asked your 'amazing' consultant why I was not told that these are different departments, and why, me as a client needs to phone all these departments to update banking details. I was advised, in exact word 'Discovery has so many clients - how can I expect Discovery to have the ability to let all their clients know'.
I am shaking I am so angry. I had to put the phone down
