I phoned FNB Housing finance a while ago asking them, if I got an offer from another bank for a homeloan with a better interest rate, would they be willing to renegotiate my current interest rate? They said "Yes for certain, just provide us with documentation to prove that you got a better interest rate, and we are more than willing to renegotiate". Well I did that, and called them back. I was then told that my home loan isn't old enough. I pretty much told them that if they won't renegotiate my interest rate, the logical thing for me to do would be to move over to the other financial institute... Well I guess FNB doesn't want me as a client anymore because they stuck to their guns... Oh well... I tried keeping my business with them but they are uncooperative. I'm typing this message because I'd like to give them another chance to keep me as a client. If they don't respond... well that's too bad then. I WILL take the offer from the other bank. I would be silly not to.
