On 31/05/2013 my sister sent the following mail to ABSA as we have our Bond and insurance cover with them:

The service provider, appointed by ABSA, did some work towards fixing the sliding gate, at our house on Friday, 24/05/2013.

Since the job is not complete, they advised us to obtain a lock for the gate in the mean-time. When my sister's 11 year old son manually opened the gate on Friday night, the gate slid off the railing and fell on top of him. He sustained injuries to the head and leg. We thank The Almighty that the incident did not result in a worse situation. The hospital bill was R1, 103.82. Further medication had to be obtained from the pharmacy. My sister, Mrs Nawaal Lawn, would like to claim the cost of the bill from the service provider's insurance, as the service provider could have warned us that the gate was no longer held in a stable position.

Please advise by responding directly to Mrs Lawn.

Contact details were provided. I have removed it for security reasons.

To date we have not received any response from them. My son's leg has not recovered yet.
