This is on behalf of my folks- they received a call from Chubb about an alarm activation at their property and rushed home to find Chubb investigating their front gate broken down. they tried to get ahold of Absa insurance to get someone over to repair the gate to no avail whereby they had to mend the gate to secure the property. When someone finally answered their call and sent a contractor over (about 4 days later) my mom was greeted by a very rude and obnoxious contractor who refused to even try open or close the gate "I am not touching it" was his reply. My mom has been following up (manager numbers dont work, call centre useless) to try find out about the claim only to hear he reported the incident as "wear and tear" on the gate. Now this coupled with a SAPS case number, Chubb being on the scene along with photographic proof supplied to the "Contractor" of the damage with the Chubb car standing in the background isnt deemed enough evidence for this person to actually do the right thing and the worst- FOR ABSA TO AGREE! My mom will now be cancelling her policy she has had for over 20 years and i will be canceling any absa account i or my wife has as well.
