After being R2'500 via a gumtree-sale-, I made Capitec's applications department aware of the (police case number, etc.) since the criminal had a Capitec account. After disclosing the bank account details, the system flagged that the person had previously performed suspicious activities. The account was subsequently stopped. Being the victim of the with all necessary proof, I requested the true details of the account holder such that I could initiate a private investigation without having to wait for the pathetic police to issue a subpoena. I got nonsense that there are confidentiality agreements. Criminals forfeit their right to confidentiality! Why are you protecting known criminals? Weeks will pass before the police finally get a subpoena to you. In the meantime, I could have the guy behind bars and prevent this from happening to others.
