Payment For Activation Of Card

About a month ago I stopped my card due to miscommunication between my wife & I. I went to the atm only to get a slip stating my card is not activated. I go into the Glen Fair branch only to be told I need to pay R55.00 to replace the card. My card was not, I still have my card with me & yes I did stop it but to pay R55.00 for another card to be activated again. I rather open up an account with another bank & get the card for free. It's just pathetic that Absa charge customers to activate a card.
