After almost 45 years as a Standard bank client, I have been reasonably happy - but now I must speak up - the Festival Mall branch is seriously under-resourced! Over the last year or so I have watched the service and attitude levels deteriorate to a point where I feel like changing banks. It used to be a great branch - now the queues for tellers is shocking- always! I waited around 20 minutes for a bulk teller (there was only one on duty - the other had gone for lunch - what happened to relief tellers!?) Anyway, after 20 minutes, I complained and a lady rushed off to get someone else to speak to me. On being herded into a cubicle, the lady asked me to wait another 10 or so minutes until the teller got back from lunch. Not a chance! I left without getting what I wanted - a 30 minute wait may be a service level Standard Bank is OK with - as a client, albeit a small one, I am not!!
To be fair, I did get some Forex there last week which was a very pleasant experience - and sadly, it really surprised me!
