On 22/05/13 was committed on my absa account in Barcelona, Spain at 17h20 and 17h40 to the value of r 7700.00 . This happened while i was at work in south Africa. I was amazed that no one from absa contacted me to query or stop the purchases that were being made. I went to see the absa branch in Brooklyn and asked that the two amounts being suspended on my account while this was being investigated. I was informed that this would be sent to their dept and that these transactions would be disputed. The amounts were than deducted from my account and todate no one from absa has contacted me to. Surely there should be a process in place to query if there are transactions processed on an account and the account holder has not informed the bank that they willbe travelling overseas.
