Extremely upset by FNB's service

I opened an FNB cheque account in Feb, but only switched debit orders in May. I do understand that during this time period an account is marked as "dormant" but I fail to understand why FNB didn't tell me this during the debit order and salary swicthing process. As a result, my salary hasn't been paid into my account and debit orders will most likely be returned. Better still, FNB can't even tell me whether or not the salary will be paid into my account or not until tomorrow morning and can also not provide information on returned debit orders. If the consultant at Century City, Sim Gela had checked my account status when I was in the bank, this situation could have been avoided. Surely this should be the first thing that is checked during this process? I have also been told that if the funds are rejected I will have to wait 10 days for the funds to appear in my employer's account! I refuse to pay any bank charges as a result of returned debit orders. I can only hope that all this admin and frustration will be worth it in the end, and that FNB delivers on what it promises. So far, I am extremely disappointed.
