Furious and stuck abroad

Good day

I am currently studying and living abroad. Before I left for South Korea in February 2013 I gave my mother power of attorney over my accounts in the event that there are problems that needed to be sorted out.

Two months into my stay my credit card stops working, when my mother went into the bank she was given despite the power of attorney notice. She could not sort my credit card out, and apparently according to ABSA they decided to change my credit card and therfore I cannot access it via internet banking and all functions are blocked. Now in my opinion this is so stupid and ridiculus. I have put notice on my account firstly, secondly given my mother power of attorney and thirdly cannot access any history on my own account- and now cannot sort this problem out!

I am stuck in a country 7 hours ahead, how am I seriously meant to sort this out. And, why is my limit blocking me from making payments when I changed my daily limit before I left!

I have been with ABSA all my life I am furious. I should have closed my account before I left.

Worst service ever.
