Hi there. My Mother had Medical Insurance with One Plan from 01.03.2012 last year. She was Diagnosed with Mouth Cancer in November of 2012. This is well out of the 3 month waiting period but One Plan rejected her claim for Dread Disease as they said it was pr-existing. This is not true. My mother was not aware of this disease nor was she diagnosed with it in the 3 month period. I have forwarded all documentation to One Plan and the Ombudsmen but am not receiving any help. My Mom had to go to government Hospital as One Plan would not pay. She has since passed away this year March 04.2013 and this was due to natural causes. She was actually Cancer free. As A family we have been trying to get One Plan insurance to pay out the sum the insured person (My Mom) was insured for since last year but they will not acknowledge my story..
They say because she went to government Hospital and was treated, they therefore do not have to pay the sum insured. Regardless of my Mom passing away, this is absolute rubbish. She was paying a monthly fee to them for these kind of things in case in an event this happens? She had to go Government Hospital because they wouldnt pay. Please advise.
