After applying for a cellphone contract and being turned down, I requested my credit report and noticed a trace alert on my profile from yourselves for a Standard bank credit card.
I had a credit card with Standard bank which I paid in 2002 and have not had an account with them since.
DMC now says I have an amount of R6296 outstanding and you have placed a trace alert on my credit record which is hampering me from opening an account or obtaining credit. This is also affecting my profile negatively. Please advise according to the prescription act no 68 of 1969 with regards to a collection period as this alleged debt has prescribed. Also please remove the trace alert from my profile soonest.
