I previously banked with FNB, and moved my cheque account to another bank for personal reasons. I was one of the pioneers who took FNB up on the i-pad offer, and upon closing my account with them, i obtained a settlement amount for the outstanding balance for the device, and settled the amount. A few months later, I was contacted by a debt collector to advise that FNB had handed my account for the i pad over to them for collection, and threatened to list me should I not pay. I assured the consultant that I did pay, and provided her with my proof of payment. After a few days i was contacted by both the debt collector and a representative of FNB to advise that there was an error on their side, and that the matter was rectified, and I owed them no money. I asked for this in writing, but to date have not recieved any correspondance other than an e-mail, with no official leterhead etc.
Today to my amazement when I log into my Online Banking profile to view my credit card, i see that a loan account has been added to my profile for an amount owing for a device to the value of R5800. What is going on here FNB? Am i expected to pay this, or are we going around in circles here???
