I'm one of those customers that ABSA's cost centre must love - I hate to go into the branch and have only done so when absolutely necessary since internet banking was launched 15-20 years ago! It seems whenever I have to its a drama! It took 8 months to fica accounts & now its become impossible for me to change my cell phone number for RVN notifications!
Normal story, phone - called Int Banking. Told to go into the branch. Went into branch waited 45 mins in Q. Was told that it is not possible to change cell number, will have to reset my entire profile (20 yrs worth of reinstalling creditors, accounts etc - NO THANKS!). Walked outside, called I Banking Call Centre and was told its not true - it CAN be done and they could do it, but dont have the authority. Went back inside and left a complaint for the Branch Manager of the conflicting info who called me the next day promising to resolve it and I never heard from her again. (all this 3 months ago)>
In the interrim, try to secure the number again but its been issued so off to branch again. 45 mins in Q - no sorry. Business Banking, No sorry. Internet banking now says the profile doesn't exist - logged in this morning! Grrrr!
