Discovery Insure has reviewed my insurance policy (on the anniversary) and sent me a revised policy which indicated a 36% increase in my monthly premium 1 year after joining - I have no claims history, am over 25, have had my license for 9 years. I find this an absolute disgrace that they would try rip their consumers off on this manner. I have e-mailed a query, and called their call centre for assistance and was told i would be contacted by the retensions department - 3 days later, still no word.
I also raised a query (with no feedback) regarding their fuel rewards program after i noticed that my DQ points have reduced from roughly 53% of the total points for driving to less than 10% while my DQ monitor indicates that my driving behaviour is unchanged and still measures between 50%-75% of their desired behavioural metrics.
The R400 a month cash-back has reduced to just over R200 which has changed my net insurance premium without any change in risk. I consider this variation in my net premium (through no fault of my own) to be a significant change to the terms on which my decision to choose Discovery Insure was based and as a result am left feeling cheated and decieved.
