In good faith I deposited R100K into my bond in February 2013 with the intention of using it at a later date, only to discover that my bond is not accessible any more.
I went to my branch in Constantia and filled in a form and what ensued is 6 weeks of phone calls, emails and been placed in a loop with your call centre during this period.
A person by the name of Lucy Mofokeng at the Home Loans Service Recovery department eventually contacted me and I was given a formal letter addressed from your PBB Ops Shared Service in Durban who want me to sign a letter increasing my interest rate by 1.5% and warning me of applicable penalty fees, because I am using my property for a business.
I sent Lucy an email which details my position and clarifies the matter, hopefully once and for all with Home Loans and she is now on leave.
I am forever humble and thankful for the assistance Standard Bank has given me over the years, but the letter states no amount to these penalties. I am tired and stressed that after building up a track record for the last 20 years, explaining to each new Manager our position, it seems I have achieved nothing. Our property is Dual Zoned, I live on the premises...
