I went to Capitec Cape Gate today to open up an account, and move all my banking to Capitec. When I arrive there, the consultant asked for my ID and proof of residence. The said that they are not able to help me cause my ID book is damaged, (The first page is loose, and the clear plastic is loose on my Photo) They said the only other way was to have a Passport. My passport has expired in January, so they cant help me as well. I am very upset about this!!! Now I must go and apply for a new ID (R170) and wait 2 months for my ID, or a new Passport (R400) You want new clients, but is unable to help me for that nitty gritty problem. UNACCEPTABLE!! You have just lost a new client!!!
