Today whilst trying to draw money from an atm, I get an error. I called the credit card helpline ans was told that my account is blocked as I need to go thru with my documentation for FICA purposes. I advised the call centre agent that I went thru to ABSA in January to update my details, he then verified that I did go thru however there was an werror on the part of the bank clerk that captured my details incorrectly. I advised that the consultant that I am located in rural KZN and the nearest Absa being 60kms away. I can only get to Absa in 2 weeks time leaving me without any cash. I cannot understand why an error on the part of the bank leaves me in dire circumstances with no access to my money. This is not fair as how do I go about making payments for the next 2 weeks.
