On Saturday, 4th May 2013, my husband and I went to Capitec Silverton to apply for a personal loan to consolidate debt and to fix a motor vehicle we want to sell. We got to see a consultant by the name of Theodora. I applied in my name and R 92000 loan was approved. This was confirmed by her and Bertus, the Manager. I just could not sign the docs or get the money then as they had to confirm my employment. Theodora was aware that I had just started in my company. But all was 100% with the loan. I just had to come back Monday. I asked her for a copy of the contract or ref no. She said I must just bring my ID. I did this, but now all of a sudden I was declined as I had been working for my current employer under 3 months. The "real" Manager, Martin tells me my documents are not on the system. No reference numbers? This, after I threatened to report the branch. They are covering up for each other. Bertus mentioned that dates had been changed from the original application. There is something very fishy and I urge people to always demand your paperwork before leaving the bank. Artists are everywhere. We needed that money urgently and had made plans with it to pay debt.
