I logged a claim on 14 March 2013 for damages to my house due to roof leaks. Alexander Forbes rejected most of the claim and said they'll pay a portion of it as they deemed the damage to be due to poor maintenance. I have two problems with this story:
1. The roof leaks were inherited when I purchased the house in 2010 (the ceiling had water marks when I moved in)
2. The promised portion settlement is still not paid out, almost two months later.
I started using Alexander Forbes last year and they were happy to take my money. They did not come to see the property insured and assess first the basic condition of the house. If they did, they would have seen these issues and alerted me then. This makes them as responsible as I am for the damages suffered.
I have had to call in contractors to fix my roof and replace my ceiling in the meantime. It seems to me Alex Forbes is not interested in assisting me in my time of need. I need my money back, and I want out of this useless relationship!!!
