I have been unemployed for over 5 years and unable to pay my bond. Though it was had I have managed to pay money into the account whilst trying to sell the house. Then recently I receive some cash and I am able to pay the full arrears and continue with the bond. I went to the Home Loans Legal Department on Monday with a blank cheque to find out the exact outstanding amount and to make sure the stop all legal processes currently in place on my account. To my surprise I find out that the house was due to be auctioned on the 26th of Feb and my arrears have gone from R42 000 to R85 000 in less than 2 months. The guy promised to make a follow up and have this rectified and since then I have been sent from pillar to post and no one can confirm the correct outstanding debt. I had asked Nedbank to cancel my insurance a long time ago in order to lower my instalment and said I will get my own and they refused. Today I am told that it has been cancelled due to non payment. It is 3 years later and the damage has been done. Nedbank set out to me over and get the maximum amount out of me. Now that I can pay they do not know how to reverse what they have done. They won't allow me to pay.
