I went to an Absa ATM last tonight to withdraw money but got only a slip saying "Account problem" and called the call centre number provided. The response: FICA registration problem. In February 2013 my account was frozen by Absa because of the same thing. So I went to the Clearwater branch to FICA my account and my account was unfrozen. Now all of a sudden my account is frozen again! I didn't receive any notice, my account was just frozen. This is very poor service and I just wonder what happens to the confidential documentation that is submitted to FICA the account the first time.
