For profit, Not performance

Having booked for my family and I to go down to CT this Easter we booked on BA. It's just my wife and our 3 month old - 1st flight! We left last week already to get a longer break for my wife - I had to fly back Monday to Thursday for work. The tickets all-in-all cost R18 000.00 - a rip off as it is. BA also thought is appropriate to charge R2000 for my 3month old son - no seat allocated though. Can't find any other airlines that charge infants, let alone R 2000!!! Anyway, on my first return flight, jhb to ct, I got bounced - cos they "always over book flights". I lost 1/2 a day at work, and had to put in leave due to BA bouncing me. This morning, on our second return, we arrived just to be yold that there's now a 5 hour delay and all other flights are "over booked" so not alternatives. We especially booked an early flight due to obligations and traveling with a baby ain't easy. Having handed back our rental car, we stuck at the airport with not enough food and nappies for an extra 5 hour lay over. there was no notification or sms or anything!!! the info on the BA website was also incorrect! so twice in a period of a week BA's business priciples have let us down! its.
