Last year my son was bumped off his Kulula flight from OR Tambo to King Shaka (see previous post on Hellopeter). The staff was very nonchalant about it. He did however get a R400 voucher to use on his next flight. Or so we thought. He tried to redeem this voucher today but still make use of his Vitality benefit. Apparently this is not allowed. He was told he can either use the voucher OR the Vitality contribution but not both. However, if they gave him the R400 in his Travel Bank Account, he could use both. So basically, a physical voucher can only be used if you are prepared to forfeit the Vitality discount (or rather contribution from Vitality). This means the voucher means actually nothing as one might as well just use Vitality and get on average R400 off the flight. Who made up that rule?
Funny enough, these day Kulula doesn't issue vouchers anymore, they only use Travel Bank in cases where your flight is delayed. (I know, it happened to me recently). And I could use that R400 from my Travelbank with my Vitality booking. This tells me it is a process issue.
I want Kulula to pay that R400 they issued my son into aTravelbank account so he can use it with a Vitality booking.
