Travel Quest
Breach of Consumer Protection Act

On the 11 Mar I received a phone call (unsolicited) from a lady saying she was doing a survey. She insisted that she was not selling anything and so I agreed to answer the survey questions. At the end of the survey she said that I qualified for a voucher. I indicated (politely) that I was not interested and the conversation ended amicably.
The next day I received a phone call from Vivian Strydom from Travel Quest in Port Elizabeth. He said that one of his colleagues had spoken to me on the previous day and enquired why I had not accepted the voucher. I said (politely) that I was not interested. He then asked why. I said again that I was simply not interested but he continued to press the conversation so I terminated the call.
He then phoned back. I told him I had terminated the conversation as I had indicated that I was not interested but he would not accept that and became quite rude.
When I informed him that he was in breach of the Consumer Protection Act and was therefore acting unlawfully he simply became more belligerent. Mr Strydom is in violation of the law by harassing members of the public. His behaviour is despicable. The consumers right to privacy must be respected!
