Poor food quality and customer service

During the December holidays i traveled to the United States and back via SAA and i was immensely disappointed by the level of customer service.

During my flight to the USA on the 9th December 2012 the food served was elobarted by fancy names such as "Delicious coconut lamb curry" only to be given food that was not only bland but almost inedible. In additiion it took over three hours for the inflight entertainment to be activated.

During my return flight to the South Africa with my expectations already low of the service i was about to receive i was appalled to find out that the inflight entertainment would not be working at all for the duration of a long and tiring 18 hour flight.

Being a proud South African citizen i was embarrassed at the overheard comments about the poor service made my foreigners in the plane. As a company that represents the country of South Africa surely this level of service needs to be improved as the ticket prices are not cheap and the airline industry is highly competitive?
