SAA
UNFAIR TREATMENT

I booked a flight (SAA-SA 8992 Q DATE: 09/01/13) for my Wife and her two sisters to Swaziland. The fight was paid for (R2926.00 each) through my sister-in-law's (Maggie) credit card. On the day of the departure, my wife and her sisters produced the e-ticket. The lady at the counter noticed that the name on one of the tickets was Maggie and on the ID book was Magdeline. The teller said that was not a big deal as she (Maggie) had to phone the booking office (011 978 1111) to request that the name be changed to Magdeline. According to the teller the booking office needed only to authorise and change/correct the name. Maggie phoned the booking office and the person at the booking office flatly refused to change the name, instead she said that she must re-book and pay again. Whats annoying is that they accepted Maggie's Credit card which only reflects her initials and not her full names..Seeing that she was bumping against the wall, she bought another ticket, for almost double (R4174.00) what she initially paid. The irony of the whole thing is that, on their return (13 Jan), at Swaziland airport, she got a ticket with the name Maggie on it and there were no hassles.
