I was checking in to fly back to Jhb with 1 bag and a car seat. They told me I had to pay for the car seat at a cost of R250.00. I found this disgusting because you can take golf clubs without an extra charge but they will charge you to take a car seat. I was told if the child was with me I could take the seat, but golf clubs no problem. I was told this was the policy and I either paid or left the chair. I did get angry as this policy is very unreasonable and the attitude of the floor manager Patience Cele was unhelpful. I got told this is the policy and she turned her back on me and walked away. I asked for both the teller and her to write her name down and they refused, she abruptly showed me her name badge. I then had to take the car seat myself to the oversized baggage area, which I have never had to do myself.
SAA's service is getting really bad and I have flown with 2 children and no one has bothered to assist me with the pram or my hand luggage.
