Requested cancellation due to retrenchment

I requested for my contract to be cancelled when I received my retrenchment letter. After 12 months and having provided them with the retrenchment letter they still refuse to accept that I am unemployed and want me to show further proof. They said they need to follow processe and will not provide me with their processes.
They are in breach of good faith.
