I bought 2 "economy" return tickets from JHB to London for the eye watering sum of R13k each. Tried to upgrade to Premium Economy and was told that although there were seats available my tickets were not upgradeable because they were of a lower class (discounted economy). If13k is a discounted economy ticket then I'm afraid I have another view of what is a fair price. I have gold membership and somewhere around 150 thousand points, I would have expected that SAA would try to accomodate me but there was no attempt to do so by the Voyager call centre who I phoned about this. My membership number is mentioned below and I'm flying on Thursday - it would be nice if SAA did something about this.
