Refund to a charity for misbooked flights!!

Yesterday at 8.30am I booked travel between Cape Town and Johannesburg - something must have gone awry as I was booking and the direction of travel reversed - so I ended up with a Johannesburg-Cape Town return flight. Rather than Cape Town-Johannesburg return.

I work with a small charity: The Lunchbox Fund: that provides school lunches for kids who don't get a meal each day... and that is a good amount of money to us. Each meal we supply costs R2.50 - so my mistake and three hours had cost us 600 meals... enough to feed 3 children for 2 school years.

Attie and his supervisor at Kulula were generously able to refund me the change fee itself on their side (I had booked through their website) but the cost of the actual flights went up almost R1500. Which, as the flights were on BA - they couldn't help me with.

I sent an email to Comair Customer Relations and received great news today from Nazley Samuels - they are refunding the change costs in FULL. And they sent us a lovely note about the work we do. How's that for ubuntu?

Thanks to Attie, Nazley and everyone involved in this decision - you warmed our hearts and filled some hungry tummies.
