A week ago I flew to Port Elizabeth through another commercial airline. My luggage and hand luggage was processed and all was fine. I attended a workshop and a congress and as such actually left some manuals with colleagues in PE. upon checking in at the airport to return home I was told I was overweight and had to pay in order to recieve my boarding pass. I was naturally outraged and requested someone from ACSA to explain why the inconsistency in weighing and penalising when compared to that of Oliver Tambo where I was in fact heavier laden with no penalty whatsoever. when requested for a certificate of inspection on the scales the airline concerned explained it was not their area of responsibility as ACSA has full control of that detail. No ACSA official available...
come on ACSA, please explain and if this was true in Johannesburg and consistent, there would be no concern. is this not just another way of fleecing the public of yet more money?
