After wanting to travel to Macaneta Island for some time we booked at the lodge for 5 nights. The lodges policy is a deposit up front and the balance before you arrive. My word of warning is that if anyone asks for the full amount up front be very careful. After arriving at the lodge we we booked into a reed chalet by the name of dorado. The chalet was clean but in very poor condition and had not been looked after at all. On top of that the air conditioning was not working. We then proceeded to find alternate accommodation which we did. We ended up staying the night and moving the next morning. We confronted the owner who said the place had just been renovated, what a joke it was falling apart. False advertising the chalet we were put in did not remotely resemble the pictures on the website. No attempt was made on the owners part to refund us or accommodate us in any manner. We felt altogether ripped off.
