Terrible Service

I fly with Kulula all the time between Durban and Johannesburg. On 20 June 2013 I flew with my 1 year daughter at 8:20pm from Jhb to Dbn. I took this trip alone with my daughter. It is not easy traveling with a baby, so I packed both of our stuff into one bag so it makes it easier for me to carry, At the OR Tambo airport, my luggage weighed 24kgs and I was allowed to take this without any extra cost incurred.
Obviously like any other person, I made purchases in Dbn while on holiday, so when I was going back to Jhb today, 25 June 2013, my luggage weighed 33.7kgs. The lady at the counter was not helpful at all. While I understand that each passenger is allowed 20kgs. I naturally assumed if I am traveling with an infant, 2 x 20kg = 40kgs. The supervisor and the attendant made it seem like it was risky to carry this amount of luggage for TWO people on a plane. I would have actually understood flight risk more that the need for MONEY! Because once I paid R250 they allowed me to take my luggage through! So in actual fact, this was for money and not a risk. I am really disappointed with Kulula because logically 40kgs split between 2 people is still reasonable. IT didn't exceed 40kgs!!!
