Exorbitant cost to rebook on ticket placed on hold

I called to cancel/postpone ticket on Monday. Agent advised it would cost R342 to rebook a ticket placed on hold versus a 50% peanlty for cancellation. My ticket cost over R3000 from JHB to PMB so it made sense to place on hold. I called SAA on Tuesday to rebook for June only to be told by another agent Alfons that it would be an extra R900 as it's charged per grid. My decision to place ticket on hold was based on the initial advice. I refuse to pay
more and asked that this be escalated for consideration. He said he and supervisor will call me back the same day. No response. I called today, Thursday, only to be told by Alfons that I should have read this when making the online booking. I dont recall seeing anything of this sort and looking at the eticket in front of me now - all that's stated is that there will be a change penalty with no stipulation of amount. Alfons was arrogant to insist that I should have known this when booking, not taking into account I was advised otherwise by another agent the call of which is recorded. SAA cannot have agents give conflicting advice and for exorbitant additional charges such as this, it should be made clearly known. No indication when SAA to revert
