On 23 April 2013 SAA flight no. SA 571 was delayed at the OR Tambo international Airport due to the flight no having a senior cabin crew member. We sat in the plane for close to an hour with the captain giving us all sort of reasons why we were late. we eventually arrived in Durban some 1hr 15 minutes late. I had with me some medical instruments that needed to get to the South Coast of KZN but due to our late arrival the contracted emergency vehicle left without the items. when I tried to get SAA staff at King Shaka to make alternative arrangements they told me they cant help me with transport and that should hire a taxi to transport the items as it was urgent. I pointed out to the team leader that to hire a meter taxi at 240 km's round trip was too expensive and they continued to say I should take it up with their call centre. i left frustrated manged to get a private individual to do me a favour at R 950 and managed to get the items to the hospital. i was contacted via email by SAA and responded to their mail and that was the last I heard from them. thanks for nothing chaps... true South African you are (NOT)!!!
