After the past two years I have been commuting for work on a regular monthly basis between KwaZulu Natal and Cape Town. I usually leave my car in ling stay parking for 5 to 12 days at times. The long stay parking has become absolute nightmare. I have even had to changed my travel day from a Monday morning to a Sunday morning because if you arrive any time after lunch on a Monday the long stay parking is full and you cannot get access. The parking organisers refuse to endorse your entry ticket to allow you to park elsewhere, but still at the long stay price. Every time I pay my parking bill at the office, I ask and request feedback on what is being done to increase the size of long stay. Every time I get the same feeble response that the airports company is investigating. King Shaka is a huge airport with loads and loads of unused parking and with the increase in long stay parking access required, it should not be rocket science to investigate and gather information to determine trends on the use of long stay. I cannot believe the poor customer service in not providing enough long stay parking places. I encountered the same issue this week as I had to commute to JHB for a week.
