I usually fly around the country for work and in the past used to leave my car at the Long-Stay Parking at the airport. It was comfortable and affordable - R305-00 for 1-3 days. It was a pleasure to use the parking then.
I parked my car the past Sunday at Long-Stay on Sunday around 12:00 to travel to Jhb. There were no indication of any parking tariffs at the gate. Two of the 3 parking booms were out of order as well! I parked my car and left for Jhb. Got back on Wed at 15:30 and proceeded to the Pay Office. I was told the parking for 1-3 days have gone up on 1/4/2013 and it was now R545-00 for 1-5 days... but stay for 6 days and the price drops to R270-00 or R45 per day. How does that work?! Please explain the method behind your madness!! Since when do prices increase by almost 80% in once year?!?! Who gave you permission to up the rates by so much?
I lost it at the counter and was infuriated even more when Vusi (controller) came in with attitude and added to my anger because of his attitude!
I had to pay in the end and left extremely angry. Do you really want people to park at your facilities or are you trying to get rid of customers. Remember... Customers pay your salaries!!
