Clear miscommunication

Good day,
I opened an account with Mweb at the beginning of March and thus it was only activated mid-March. I asked for a modem to be included and this was not seen through so as a result, I ended up spending nearly R5000 on a modem router and a booster at the end of March. I complained and suddenly the modem I originally ordered arrived - too late I'm afraid.

As I ordered the modem when I took out my internet package, I was told that it would be included in my first payment. This morning I discovered that that was not the case and that I apparently still need to pay for it. I will not be paying for this, as the service was unprofessional in the first place and I ended up breaking the bank for equipment of my own that is currently in use. Also, I have been sending emails to Mweb since last week and received no feedback whatsoever. I had to call them.
