This morning I phoned the branch to enquire about the price of a cell phone. I was quoted R2999 over the phone and they were the only branch I called who had stock. This afternoon I drove through to Canal Walk and when I enquired again about the same phone I was told it would cost R4500. Feeling angry and rather taken-aback, I went around the shopping mall to get quotes for the same make and model phone. I found out it sold in the region of R3200, however nowhere had stock. I went back to confront them about the vast price difference and the sales assistant told me that they could charge more as they are an independent company. The sales assistant said he'd give me the phone for R3200, so I took it in desperation. Looking at the till slip now, the actual phone was R3170 and the item that I supposedly got for free actually cost me R30. I'm livid. Is this what sales assistants are now doing to make sure they get paid more at the end of the month? Trying to take advantage of whoever walks into their store? And do what with the extra cash? Pocket it? I'm never going back there again. I am disgusted by the way I was treated today.
