I have been with Vodacom since Cell phones first came out and I have always shut other service providers down due to the great service I have always received from Vodacom UNTILL now!
I had a data pack contract which I got a while back. I then received a call at the beginning of the year to "upgrade" to mygig2 instead of mygig1 and pay less which I though was nice that they offering me more for less. So I agreed not realising it is a NEW 2 year contract.
I have NOT used this data at all since this "new" contract has been put in place. I called to cancel and now I have been told I have to pay for the full 2years! This is daylight.
First of all I have never used any data and secondly there is no device that needs to be paid off.
I was expecting Vodacom to say sure you can cancel but need to give 30days notice and pay for those 30days.
I would have been okay with even paying the commission to the poor person who was clever enough to sell a contract to me without me realising it is for 2years!
I know that this is against my consumer rights and when asked to be put through to the legal department I was told there is no one who deals with this!
Revolting!!!
